Snickers Cookies

Brooke my five year old daughters loves to help me cook. Anytime I start baking she pulls up a chair and says, "What can I do!" So no matter how small I find something she can do. I loved when I got to help my mom and grandmother, so I want to same for Brooke. She had asked me one day if we could make cookies. She wanted Chocolate chip. So I decided to give a try to one of the recipes I had found on Pinterest. I'm so glad I did because I found my go to recipe for most any cookie base you'd need for a cookie. I have yet to have any cookie turn out yucky. For the recipe I am sharing I made it my own. If you'd like to see the original recipe for the chocolate chip Cookies here is the link to the website for  Apple-A-Day. I hope you like this recipe and I will be posting more of the cookies I have made soon.

 Inside of the cookies are so yum! My husband loves snickers & said these are a win.

Snickers Cookie

What Ya'll Need:

3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. unsalted butter, softened
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 egg
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
* Bite Size Snickers Candies

Preheat oven to 350. In a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, cream together butter and sugars then add the egg and vanilla and blend in. *Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. Then add in the Snickers candy pieces. Using a standard-sized cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto a prepared baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until barely golden brown around the edges. I cooked mine for 9 minutes. Let them cool on the sheet for about a minute then remove to a cooling rack and cool for five more minutes.

**Cooking Tip: I cut the bite size pieces in to fours, then keep in a bowl and placed them in to freezer until I was ready to use them so that they wouldn't melt and made it easy to mix in the cookie dough. I did this step first so that I wouldn't be rushing in middle of making cookies. I also mix the flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt, together in a bowl before adding to mixer.
